BANGKOK (REUTERS) - Thailand confirmed its first case of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers) virus on Thursday, according to the country's health ministry.

The virus was detected in a businessman from Oman, the country's health minister told reporters.

"From two lab tests we can confirm that the Mers virus was found," said Public Health Minister Rajata Rajatanavin.

LHL already promised to personally stand at Changi Airport to welcome the SG50 MERS First Arrival. :D

If MERs makes a showing in Spore what is going to happen to the SG50 celebrations:confused:

I expect many of the PAP MPs to run & hide like what happened during SARs;)

Froggy to appear in this suit at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

No need to go back so far in time... many of them were in hiding when the haze arrived. ;)

Lots of Middle Easterners visit Thailand. That it took so long for MERS to reach Thailand shows that Buddha is protecting the Thais.
