Excerpt from Singapore PM asks Japan to turn page on history

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday called on Japan to turn the page on World War II, saying that persistent reopening of history worsened relations within Asia.​

"Unless you can put the Second World War behind you and not keep on reopening issues of comfort women, of aggression, of whether or not bad things were done during the war, I think that this is going to be a continuing sore," Lee said at the Council on Foreign Relations on a visit to Washington.​

Excerpt from Lee urges Japan to come clean on WWII atrocities

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has urged Japan to admit to its misdeeds from World War II so it can play a more active role in the region.

“Japan needs to acknowledge past wrongs, and Japanese public opinion needs to be more forthright in rejecting the more outrageous interpretations of history by right-wing academics and politicians,” Lee said in a keynote speech at Friday’s opening of the Asia Security Summit conference, also known as the Shangri-La Dialogue.​

Japan does not have to apologize for anything to China. The Chinese CCP government, under Mao, slaughtered more Chinese than the Japs ever did. Today, a huge portrait of Mao hangs at Tiananmen Square and China's history books gloss over the CCP's misdeeds.
