Wishing Bro & Sis A Happy Vesak Day ( 1st June 2015 )

Attachment is suffering but without attachment there will be no responsibility. Responsibility comes after attachment ;) no wonder Buddha leave his parents and family behind in search of " the truth " . He doesn't have any responsibility at all ;)

Despite talking so much, there will come a time in the near future where our monasteries have to be managed by foreign talent monks because most sinkies won't want to be monks and take a shot at attaining nirvana.

this is quite true leh.............

Yes , I do not believe Buddha teaching is good for mankind ;)

I've long given up on Buddhism. Here's why:

In Burma, Buddhists, including very high ranking abbots, have been known to torch their fellow countrymen's mosques, deny them rights to citizenship, restrict their movements within the country, force them to flee their country in overcrowded rickety boats.

In Thailand, Thais make a great show (wayang) of performing so-called "merit" during Buddhist holidays (only during Buddhist holidays). According to their belief, acts that will gain "merit" include setting captive birds and fish free. Oh yes, they give very generous alms to monks and monasteries in the hope they will gain great "merit". But they turn a blind eye to poverty-stricken Thais, some of whom are reduced to begging on the streets. It makes me wonder how warped their belief has become. The act of releasing captive birds and fish is more meritorious than helping their fellow countrymen.

You are absolutely right , Buddhism like other religion have gone commercialized . Look at Thailand , they are selling Buddhist products like amulets , " magical sayant ( tattoo ) and Buddhism related products . It's a muti-billions dollars industry out there like any other religion . Look at those temples in Tibet , Cambodia , thai ...ect . Their fucking temple is so grand and some even make of gold but their locals are living in proverty and they still got the cheeks to brag that money is not important when they collect donation from delusional devotees !!

Where do they get those tortoises and birds to released ? Fuck , they buy from poacher !! It's like encourage those poacher to catch animals and buy from them to released so that those fucking devotees can " feel good " about themselves !! Hypocrite .

The whole thing about karma is really stupid . Let me explained why .

If a person get into trouble does it mean because his bad karma ? If that's the case should we help those in trouble because helping will interfere karma at work ;) since it's the work of karma he should accept it , no ? ;)

No, it means he is not bloody careful and deserves to get into trouble

Buddhists will tell you his parents' loss is mankind's gain. I shudder at the thought of my son telling me in future he going to abandon me to become a monk, just because he lost interest in dating and working.

Buddhists like other religion freaks will give you thousands of stupid excuses to justify that their religion is the best !!

This shows that you do not know a shit about anything.. and try to justified your stupidity here.

The theory of karma is NOT based on stupid concepts just because we mortals are unable to fully grasp them.

If a person get into trouble does it mean because his bad karma ?

What sort of trouble? Please be specific so that I can explain to you how karma works, given my limited knowledge of the subject.

The converse is also true.

An example: a person such as LKY became the de facto Emperor of a TINY city-state because of his previous good karmas. Instead of accumulating more good karma while he was Emperor, he decimated it by persecuting good people, heaping false and malicious accusations against his real and PERCEIVED rivals, throwing them into jail, permitting and promoting cronyism and nepotism, etc....

In the end what happened to him after his demise? The once highly exalted Emperor of a tiny country has now reincarnated in a poor village somewhere in India. He's now born to a low-caste Hindu family. His life ahead won't be as rosy as the one before him. That's karma at work.

You have to be more specific about what sort of trouble the person(s) is/are in.

Generally speaking, if a person is in trouble--however big or small--it could be due to his previous bad karma. Sure, you aren't obliged to help him, YOUR (not my) reason being that you don't wish to interfere karma at work.

But if you DO help him to get out of trouble, YOU will be accumulating good karma for your next life (unless you decide to attain nirvana). Karma allows and even encourages do-gooders such as yourself to help those in trouble (who got into trouble because of their previous bad karma).

One concept in the theory of karma is that it has a multiplier effect that isn't limited by the space-time continuum (a/k/a dimension).

Who or what determines a person's next life?

What are the criteria set?

If a person dies and is reincarnated as an insect e.g cockroach, how is it able to obtain good karma and reborn into a better life as a person?

Can you or anybody else enlighten me on the above questions? Thanks.

You are like any other stupid religious people who always said non believer do not understand their cult . Typical delusional people .

One concept in the theory of karma is that it has a multiplier effect that isn't limited by the space-time continuum (a/k/a dimension).

you see, many religion miss out the most important part of the natural cosmo function which is the aura or consciousness that affect change to the nature.

Karma is just the concept of cause and effect.. it is not just some magical fantasy shit..

if you do not eat , you will be hungry..
if you do not drink, you will be thirsty.

What so special about that???

karma can be individual and be collective...the whole of population of ball-less sinkie shit losers will have their future generation screwed by the govt.. this is called collective karma.

if you talk about after life and rebirth, you got to have the idealogy of aura and consciousness that cause the rebirth..

AS for your example of LKY being reborned in a lower caste indian family..his aura and consciousness at that state causes him to reborn there.

all self-interest and attachment to the self will cause lower aura or a heavy weight consciousness on the person.

if the person is selfless and will to do anything to help the society to become better, his aura is strong and light that will rise him up..

you can feel the aura or your consciousness after you have sincerely help others or after doing a deed that is against your conscience.
