Giving his comments on the Paris massacre by Muslims, Pope Francis gave an analogy that it was OK to punch someone who had insulted your mother. So, Pope is OK with violence.

He didn't say it was OK. He said it 'was natural'.

Just because it's 'natural' for someone to retaliate doesn't mean we have to condone the act of retaliation, especially if it's violent.

I don't condone punching someone in the pub, but I always tell my kids, don't stare, or you'll be beaten up by a chow ah beng.

Yr comprehension is bad. He's not saying it's ok. He meant to say you should expect retaliation if you don't show respect for others.
