I think the food is very expensive. However, when your major costs, car and housing, is this cheap and you have already save few hundred thousands, you are really worried about paying 10 more for food?

Fish expensive nowadays. Next is meat. I only eat those once or twice a week. I am not encouraging u guys to go vegetarian like some Jiu hu kia always bragged about. For me a simple malay meal like sambal goreng with udang grago or sayur kacang with egg and bagadil cost me $3.00 the most. At hawker center ya.

nasi lemak is great for all meals from breakfast to dinner. it has all the ingredients from carb to protein to vege. but because it is too dry and may cause constipation, a serving of bandung is recommended for each nasi lemak meal.

this was the nasi lemak breakfast that i enjoyed at jalan teck whye. the meal was not only delicious and ample, it provided me the fill, strength and nutrients to last more than 6 hours so much so that i skipped lunch and tea time. cutting down 2 sinkie meals plus snacks contributed to a more healthy regimen than gouging on so called "healthy" food too often in too short intervals.

Australia is a healthier place than Spore. I remember reading about a Sporean who moved there because her children had problems with allergies to many things man made chemicals. In Australia she had a home which was specially built to minimised the use of chemicals & synthetic materials.

I've been told that organic vegetables & fruits is very available & affordable there. In Spore I pay a premium for organic Australian produce because it has to be imported.

contrary to the false notion that coconut milk is fattening and contributes to obesity, diabetes, and even bad cholesterol, coconut milk is actually very healthy. if the egg, fish, ikan bilis, and peanuts are fried with vegetable oil, the combo is healthier than chink food cooked with pork lard. there's hardly oil in the rice, as it is steamed, not fried, unlike chink fried lice which is greasy and full of eggs and fatty pork. cucumbers and sometimes slices of tomatoes are buried under the rice in nasi lemak, and they offset the fried stuff. the sambal chili has both chili peppers and onions in it, plus spices and other nutritious ingredients.

health issues associated with the malay population in sg have more to do with behavioral, hereditary and dietary patterns connected to other meaty consumption, consumption of sugar, smoking, genes, etc. cholesterol only comes from meaty fats and the body.
