The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, arrived on Friday (27 Nov) for a 3-day official visit to Singapore (27-29 Nov).
He is accompanied by a group of CEOs representing a range of businesses including financial services, smart cities and infrastructure development.
The British High Commissioner in Singapore, Antony Phillipson, explained, “The visit to Singapore this week by Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London will highlight the deep and enduring links between Singapore and London. His support for the FinTech trade mission, and the make up of the delegation that is travelling with him, illustrates the scope for developing those links still further in key sectors for both our countries.”
Mr Johnson took the MRT to visit PM Lee at the Istana yesterday (28 Nov). In a Twitter post, Mr Johnson said he rode the MRT, which he called a “gleaming tube”, on his way to meet Mr Lee:
