what a coincidence! i also have an aunt with a good-for-nothing son. she has 2 daughters, and both are well-educated, smart, married with kids and doing very well. the son, however, lives with mom and dad even though he's over 30. he gambles and relies entirely on parents for food, lodging, and money. his dad has to work as garang guni man to feed his gambling habit, and mom has to work as store helper to pay his debts. they doted on their son since infancy but did not show the same affection to their daughters. this chap is so pampered and spoilt all his life that he beats his parents up if they don't give in to his demands for cash.

while you have 1 aunt who's like this, i have 2. the 2nd aunt has a son who's in his late 40's. he gambled more than half the family fortune away. both sinkie losers exhibit the same pattern in their lives: wives ran away and divorced them, children raised by grannies (and they repeat the same overly protective doting mistakes on male grand kids), broke, never have any positive cash flows and net worth in their lives, gambling addicts, ktv and hfj addicts, chicken addicts, rice rocket bengs, must wear rolex (easily pawned), picky on food as though they are makan sutra experts, must drive far to eat the "best", very sociable and humorous to strangers, great actors, always complain about pap and why they are holding back on their cpf.

these are no isolated cases in sg. it's an epidemic. and these losers have themselves to blame.

Since Wednesday, Singapore netizens have been mourning the passing of an elderly woman usually spotted along Orchard Road - at a traffic light near Mandarin Gallery - selling packets of tissue, instant coffee and instant noodles, among others.

“She is in a better place. My heart is saddened knowing we as a society failed her when all around us are trappings and flaunting of wealth, yet no concrete help was rendered for one of Singapore's daughters. She deserved better. RIP dear lady,” said an Olwen Buddig Thomas

“Sad to hear. Although Orchard Road is a world class shopping district, I believe heaven will be a much better place for her she is so hardworking and dignified (sic). May she rest in peace and be well taken care of by God and His angels,” said a Bryant Keagan Luo on the same post.

She was surrounded by a few of her church friends before her passing at the hospital.

It is very ironic that the items the old lady selling the items is less than S$2 to S$3 in value, while the "atas" surrounding shops are selling the so called designers bags and clothes that are a couple of hundreds to many thousands each.

And the shoppers do not bat an eyelid when forking out monies to buy the designer bags and clothes.
The sense of value is definitely screwed big time.
