Protests nowadays - beyond the numbers

But it’s not the numbers that should make the authorities sit up and for MPs and Cabinet Ministers to start seriously thinking; it’s about how readily Singaporeans seem these days to go up in arms and start protest rallies about things they are unhappy with on the ground, and it seems like the underground movement is growing — where once rallies at the Speakers’ Corner could be dismissed at the wave of a hand and make for public entertainment at most (I suppose that’s what the Police license was for, really), these days, the rallies are getting organised a lot faster and larger…and certainly more vocal and louder.

Looking at the posters and banners put up at the protest site, it showed the protestors did not pull their punches to hantam the pappies. LKY would certainly like to take his hatchet out of the bag but he is too old to strike. Many pappies diehard supporters still refuse to believe the crumbling of pappies has begun.
