Several fake troll accounts have been discovered impersonating social activist and founder of Transitioning.org, Gilbert Goh, and using the fake online personas to spread hate messages.
The comments made by these fake accounts incite hate and are calling on Singaporeans to 'go to war' or turn to violence against foreigners:
Supporters of Gilbert Goh have been able to identify some of the fake accounts and have made police reports about the hateful comments that have been posted by those accounts. Some have speculated that the accounts were made to discredit Gilbert Goh and justify banning the May Day Protest that Gilbert is organizing.
The police report shown in the image above, (click for a larger image) was filed by William Lim who also posted his concern to facebook to warn others:
Here is one example of a fake Gilbert Goh account that is still around: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008292634326
For reference, Gilbert Goh's real profile is: https://www.facebook.com/goh.gilbert
Gilbert Goh has clarified that he does not condone violence as a solution to any problem. He emphasized that the grievances Singaporeans have are with the PAP's immigration and labour policies and not necessarily with foreigners themselves.
He encouraged everyone to attend the May Day Protest and peacefully show our discontent with the government's policies.
