Will Temasek Holdings Return SMRT?

Ho Ching has mismanaged SMRT. She brought in SPW who made a mess. Train maintenance was neglected for short term profits. Now mrts and their infrastructure are in a mess and much outlay has to be poured in to bring them back to standard. It is going to cost SMRT a bomb. Because of HC's mismanagement and SPW's neglect SMRT is now a liability. If not for the $1.1B rescued package, SMRT wld have made losses last year and this year. But the rot continues.

HC managed to get LHL to rescue SMRT from making losses. Profits they keep, expenses Singaporeans incur. But such abuses come with severe political costs to the pap and so it cant be perpetuated forever.

The next thing for HC to do is to scheme to return an abused and neglected MRT system or part of it to SG govt and pass the maintenance costs to SG tax payers.

Will Temasek Holdings now make a case to return SMRT or part its infrastructure back to SG tax payers after milking it for the last 10years and neglecting to maintain it?

the govt is to govern SG and make it a good place for Singaporeans. TH is to maximise returns on its investment. I hope the pap govt does have the same mindset as TH
