Is it true that some agencies really make their guards work for a few days consecutively and even paid them to sleep? If this is true, it is not only unscrupulous, it is also counter productive. Your guard work for so many hours, how can he/she really be productive? Why can't the service providers invest in technologies to help cover areas that have low traffic and reduce on manpower? Lesser guards don't always mean safety is compromised.

So there needs to be progressive wage for the guards so the employers cannot screw the guards' wages?

Screw the progressive wage. If anything, security guards shouldn't work more than 40 hours a week.

You want to improve the guard's wages, implement a minimum wage like in progressive countries.

Hmmm...but i read that there are a lot of problems caused by minimum wage. I am imagining you pay a guard minimum $1,000 a month and there are 10 of them. if you slack, you also pocket that $1,000. If you work hard, you also get paid the same. How will their pay increase? Won't it be unfair?

Where got problem? Minimum wage means you cannot pay less than a certain amount, so that employee can survive. It doesn't mean everyone same pay. Minimum wage must always be set according to cost of living and living std for that particular country, and may vary from industry to industry.

So you can pay the harder worker overtime and he takes home $1,200. Or give him an increment of $200. Lazy worker stuck at $1,000.

Fuck progressive wage. It's a bastardized form of minimum wage that neither helps the employer nor employee. Only frog-in-a-well Sinkies can have wool pulled over their eyes by Zorro with fancy terms like 'progressive' and still claim to have 6/6 vision.

Minimum wage sets the baseline. Without minimum wage, employer suka suka decide. Greedy employers - lots of them - will want to pay the least if not get workers for free.
So, what's the problem with minimum wage?

Minimum wage is not the solution. Import more
FTs is the only solution.
