I cannot explain 99% of what happens on the network.

Cloudflare is actually supposed to reduce latency as it caches like hell. However, if the network is overloaded, it ends up slower.

ok, thanks! that may explain it. after logging into sammyboy, everything on sbf is on rapid fire.

will log out of there, close the tab, and see if there's a difference.

That's one of the problems of running a site. Everyone has a different impression of how responsive the site is depending upon where and how they are connected.
