It resizes smaller images making them bigger and less sharp.

Let us take an example.

See spotter's pic here

Now go to his link and see the picture hosted.

See how much clearer his picture is.

joety's image

Go to the link:

again it is much clearer.

Just don't get why this forum needs to resize smaller images instead of posting them at their native res since they can fit perfectly without needing to scroll.

Large images should be resized and they become sharper. Just post a huge image try 1920 x 1080 res and post it here and it gets resized smaller so it looks sharper but takes longer to load and takes up more bandwidth.

The forum does not stretch small images. However it does reduce large images so that they fit within the borders of the message.

Spotter's image is shrunk by the url that you have provided above. The actual image is at http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s164/spotter542/IMG_1471.jpg

Same applies to joety's image. The image is hotlinked from http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u400/joetys/SBF/A492E3AD-353F-4841-BCF0-5B53A21784FE.jpg

You check the pictures on the links. They are smaller compared to when they are embedded here. They look less sharp. The height and width of the pictures are smaller and then definitely fit into the borders

I suppose the forum does this so that the pictures look uniform with the text?

Yes they are smaller in the links you provided because they are shrunk by the code in that photobucket page to fit into the slide show format.

If you click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right hand corner of the image, a window will pop up which displays the actual size of the image.

well i doubt the magnified image is as big as the one when embedded on the forum.

Show you another example here is my picture, when i post it here it becomes larger and less sharp. You can save the picture and open it on your pc u will see it is much smaller. Try it don't just say it.

On my computer it's exactly the same size.
