Teenager thinks pot is bad for you. What a screwed up kid! Lucky for him, mommy is wise and seeks sound guidance.

Cheers!

Mom Seeks Guidance For Son Questioning Legal Marijuana

By Abigail Van Buren 22 hours ago

DEAR ABBY: Due to various anti-drug lectures he was exposed to at school, my 13-year-old son believes that marijuana is not only illegal, but also is very bad for you. He said it is poison.
My state has recently legalized marijuana and I am at a loss about how to explain to him that pot is no longer "that bad," as people partake of it in a responsible manner going forward. Any suggestions? -- COLORADO MOM

DEAR MOM: Marijuana isn't poison, unless it was sprayed with a poisonous chemical before being harvested. The marijuana being sold to adults in the states where it is now legal has been carefully cultivated and harvested. Its use is not encouraged among teenagers, however, because research has shown it can impair brain development among young people.
Stress to your son that like alcohol, marijuana can slow reaction time and impair judgment and memory, which is why it's illegal for minors to use it. Whether it will become legal across the nation is still an open question. If it's abused the way that alcohol sometimes is, smoking weed may also be harmful because, like any smoke, it poses a risk to the lungs

sanjay gupta's journal-documentary on "weed" is a great series. towards the end, if cbd-dominant canabis can be quality-harvested and assured for its cbd medicinal content, it's worth the effort to "pharmacise" the plant. i don't care about the ths content. but folks like you and drifter may care more about the hallucinogen side. :p

I got a chance once to try some of that famous "BC weed" that is super-potent. It was so strong we called it "zombie-pot." Within a couple of minutes, those who drew a drag from this weed were so zonked out and zero and became stupid and zombie like. Many didn't really like it as it was too strong and made us useless. I can't speak for everyone, but I think most people still want to be in control of themselves and at least be able to drive home. For the general public, I think as long as they get non-contaminated weed free of agents like paraquat or laced with angel-dust, that's good enough. A simple buzz able to last three to four hours for an evening's rest will suffice for most people. For those looking for something stronger, I assume these people will move to something else other than pot. That's my view.

On the "pharmaceutical" side of the weed, there are already organizations ready to spring into business in US I think. Will be big there.

Cheers!

the shocking fact about amateur-grown weed or those by irresponsible growers out for a quick buck is that they are heavily contaminated with pesticides and other toxic substances that are out to kill parasites. the ones grown by more scientific and responsible businesses in a greenhouse require major investment, qc and good employees.

In view of the huge market and sales potential, growers will want to maintain a good reputation, especially now with nation-wide legalization on the horizon. Over the years, the illicit growers have attained a high degree of expertise in "botany" and definitely know about the crop and how to raise it organically. Contamination from pesticides and other chemicals are more likely to come from jealous competition in sabotage. During the eighties, the FBI flew planes over to Mexico and released paraquat weed-killer on the plants, the Mexicans were quite fed-up that the feds did not touch the plants grown in the US! I have a feeling the big US tobacco companies are eyeing this weed business as tobacco sales are declining.

Cheers!

I do not use it that often. Besides, I've come across shitloads of people who do not use pot and they could do with some mind expansion.

Cheers!
