Different ppl react to stress differently.

Some ppl I know travel 4hrs each way to work n home n r ok with it.

I can't do it.

Stress brings out the best in humans.

Stress is a huge contributor to Heart Attacks.

Stress leads some to commit suicide.

Reasonable stress is ok.

Unreasonable stress that our kids go through is extremely unhealthy.

THIS great education system of ours...... how hv v benefited?

Generic drugs?

Cheaper cars?

Our own cars?

our own rockets?

what has our education system achieved?

we import doctors nurses medicines

I know of RJC students who hv not achieved anything in life.

Who are we to decide that being ultra rich is the best thing?

Anyway if anyone of us were in the top 20 in singapore we won't be on this forum and will probably be spending our time earning more $

And there are no stats to show that ultra rich equals being happy.

Having a 200% increase in appreciation is very subjective. When I shifted back to Singapore after selling half of my iskandar properties, my bank account is up 10,000% ( bought in 2007, sold last year ). My children school is just a few minutes walk away. Security is guaranteed at the expense of more money of course. But I got 4 more hours to focus on my work and got more time to increase my sales, which has increased.

JB will now be a weekend holidays for me and my family.

How many Chief of (something) places they can have in 1 organisation? I guess not many.

Sadly not every child learn the same way. Now here's the flaw of the education system. They will only know how to produce robots in Singapore. When they try to get in to creative field or any free thinking jobs they all screw up.

Sadly not everyone know how to run a business. We already been in Leisure Farm for 2 months. Our saving in Singapore bank account already up by 200% in appreciation. Thanks to the cost reduction of accommodation in Leisure Farm. You are right we wouldn't be rich in our lifetime but at least we can retire early with all this saving without seeing the coffin.

How many Chiefs can exist?

Outwardly happy is true happiness.... wow then!!

Any one amongst us here not working hard?

All of us work very hard for our families.

I may be rich in my eyes but too a richer person I'm plain mediocre or even POOR.

There you go. You are sorted and retire in JB. But I don't think you could anymore in the most expensive city in the world.

You know why we need to import doctors? Not becos our education system is no good or we have no local talent. Becos last time the govt was overly strict with intake of medical students - probably to save subsidy for medical education - many promising local students had to study other courses if they can't afford overseas medical education.

And now there is shortfall the govt simply hire doctors from India, Sri Lanka, Philippines etc to fill the shortage. I have doubts of the qualification of these doctors, especially in recent years there have been cases of India/Sri lanka and even Malaysian doctors in Spore in the news for molesting nurse/patient.

Exactly Robots.... that's all...

Can't even innovate.

Actually which country did you grow up in? I think the SG education is not that bad lah, at least produced one Sim Wong Hoo who can innovate enough for Apple to copy and have to pay him millions...

One thing I observe during my decades of in-out JB is that the people who tried all means of ways to save on petrol and food etc by going to JB to do everything and I really mean EVERYTHING ( I was one of them ), never became rich. You see the bikers coming in for decades. You see Sporeans staying in JB and in-out daily. They were never very rich. The ones who really made it very rich really stay in Singapore and I don't know the rationale behind. Its true. I am not looking down on anyone. Just stating an observation.

I think yr obsevation is lacking depth.
Firstly u are not comparing apple to apple, ie poor johorean to poor Singapoean ,mid class to mid class n rich class to rich class. My observation is that of JB poor live a more fullfiling live then those poor in SG. The middle class JB N those SPRs maybe better off than those middle class Singaporean. Just take a look at how many banded cars (some are SG plate hor) each of these family own in those GNG estates .
The only class that are much better off and getting richer is the rich elite Singapore that wont need or wont want to step into JB . They are many time richer than the rich in JB without the need to move their butt, dont need to travel in n out of JB lah.

Absolutely....

Even our healthcare drugs r based on if can pay or not.

Yeah cannot pay got to settle for generic drugs, not like in Malaysia, govt hospital not just give you free medicine but some more give same standard of medicine as private sector. So no money also can get good medicine, no need to settle for generic drugs if cannot pay.

Ok those who wanna get stressed and enjoy it please read below.... Not I say..... doc say...

When stress becomes long-term and is not properly addressed, it can lead to a number of more serious health conditions, including:

Depression
High blood pressure
Abnormal heartbeat (arrhythmia)
Hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis)
Heart disease
Heart attack
Heartburn, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome
Upset stomach -- cramps, constipation, and diarrhea
Weight gain or loss
Changes in sex drive
Fertility problems
Flare-ups of asthma or arthritis
Skin problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis

My opinion:

Stress is inescapable. But I'd rather learn to manage it and relax

A relative of mine held high position in a company, but it was a stressful job. He eventually contracted brain cancer in his 40s and passed away. Too much stress is not always good.

Agree with u especially the part in Red.

One amongst the top 10 in Spore I was in touch for about a year plus.... their lifestyle gv me headache....this week London next week Australia and so forth.

Would not wanna reveal too much here.

Sometimes they din do much.... my dumb observation.

Their money just multiplied manifold...

And JB they swore never..... in my dumb conversations with them.

More like NY, LV etc

Only one Mr. Sim lah.

SG has quite a number, just that they keep low profile. I met a few but their glory days in 1980s were over. Technology firms are difficult to survive these days due to cheap manufacturing and rampant copying in China. Not to mention that the high rental and labour costs kill most of the startups.

SG education is not bad but not good enough to find a bank CEO for a national bank.
Someone told me that a local university did a survey to ask what business they will start and it seems a vast majority said tuition center.
My kids are in SG school, it's almost free now and the school facilities are excellent, really cannot complaint. But you wonder why not good enough to produce a bank CEO or industry leader.

Very hard to compare lah. There are the super rich in jb as well like the sultan and gang. Just going by the news we have high density of super rich in Singapore hence more chance to bump into them. I also bumped into a number, they got private banking, when they invest is not buy 1 or 2 house but an estate development. Well I only hear, how to engage in this class of conversation.

I am pretty sure the middle class in Malaysia is much better off than Singapore but not sure about the poor. There are indeed many schemes in Singapore to help the poor unfortunately a lot of means testing or checks but if you are really poor sure pass one.
