That is indeed sad news. Contour has a better product. Even my friends with GoPros admired the performance and design of my contour unit. The battery lasts longer and mounting the camera is a breeze.

This goes to show that hype and marketing is more important than the truth in this internet age we live in.

unfortunately, the marketing machinery of gopro outclassed that of contour. plus, outside and supply chain investors such as foxconn are jumping in to grab a pie of gopro before ipo. i won't be surprised if gopro attracts top refugees from contour and starts a new line of contour-like cams.
