Knowing the outcome of the riot, they praised the SPF. If many died or seriously wounded resulting from police not acting, their assessment wont be the same. So, the outcome influences their assessment.

I am keen to know the age of officers at scene. I am quite certain all were new birds who lack the necessary experience to handle difficult customers. An old bird, one who reads the ground better is far more likely to better assess the situation.

Old birds could be station insps or snr station insp rank. Old birds refer to JOs with 20 yrs experience. Not all are poor performers. Many of these JOs are senior officers today but not everyone got thru because of hard work.
