If you're that hard up for a cab, call for one.

Many gian png folks don't want to pay extra, so they die die want to flag for one. Then they get frustrated when no taxis come because the cabbies are changing shift, or they're trying to flag for one at some ulu place during an unearthly hour.

obviously you never try calling for a cab during peak hours or in CBD. the cab service in singapore is the worst in the world. screw them. this has nothing to do with charges but all to do with service. good for LTA to screw them. for once I agree with anton that alot of taxi drivers are idiots. alot of my friends also thinks they are the worst drivers in the world.Ha ha. now lan lan go to drive more or lose the cab. makes my day

Right and some taxi drivers are either deaf or dumb. You telling them the destination, they look motionless and never even say yes or at at acknowledge.

You don't survive in Spore by being dumb . These taxi uncles are very calculative & they have done their numbers.
If you do the calculations the cheaper way for Sporeans to have access to a car is to rent from the taxi companies.

Eng kai lah! For too long, taxis never seem to be around when you want them. Some research and survey must be done to find out where taxis are at different hrs of the day, then we know who have been skiving and who have been working hard.

There will be taxis driving around looking for fares, and fares looking high and low for taxis. Not enough is being done to facilitate this meeting of needs.

Didnt vaseline teo say every commuters travel on the same time, mrt sure rosak. Same in taxi, evening 5-6pm is shift changing time, sure reduction of cabs as cabbies switch. Cabbies also need to eat dinner wan hor, they cannot have work life balance like the rest of the workforce? Cabbies not entitled to eat dinner with families? The article also point out toyota wish cabbies have problem meeting the lta regulations. That because wish are petrol/cng so the wish cannot be driven 24hrs continueously compare to the other diesel cabs. Because of this, most if not all wish cabs has no relief drivers. So u demand these single hirer cabbies to be on the road at morning and evening peak hours everyday? Robots also need to service regularly to ensure serviceability.

So pls have a heart on cabbies instead of farking them. Now too many cabbies are lau uncles, with slower reflexes and reactions, it already dangerous enough, u still want them to drive beyond their normal hours, u have a death wish?

Taxi drivers pay the rent. It's entirely up to them how much they want to earn.

Typical PAP govt wanting to micromanage every little aspect of the citizens' lives.
