Govt. finally hires company to check education qualifications of Indian FTs

What happens if the snake skins gave $200 to "pass" the vetting? Its a vicious cycle, in this case, getting Singaporeans that knows what is at stake to do the vetting itself would have been much productive. A lot of people in this forum might even do it for "free".

This part, I am not so worried about. If MOM is smart (and all indications are to the contrary now), they will offer $100 bonus for every fake Indian FT this company can dig up. I can tell you these snake skins will sell each other down the river for $100. They will work most diligently to betray their own countrymen for this kind of money. Or u high a company in India owned by Sikhs to do the checking. They hate the Hindus and Muslims, they will also work most diligently to screw this fakers up. I think they can quite easily dig up 10,000 fake degree holders.

Headlines tomorrow:

In tit-for-tat move, India will validate CVs of all Singaporeans working in India

:D:D

I can confirm that MOM does check the authenticity of certs, esp from India, China and Philippines. However, the sheer number of applications makes it impossible to check all. Also, given that MOM tries to process applications as fast as possible (business oriented), many slip through the cracks. For the more professional jobs, MOM does check them more thoroughly.

Good to see them finally doing something different though.

This makes no sense at all. Why bother even checking at all if you allow "many slip through the cracks"? Better to slow down the applications by only letting in vetted ones, right? Why is business putting pressure on MOM to posess them quickly? Since when is the govt. answerable to big business? They bribing MOM? They should slow the process down, and only let in vetted applicants, if businesses don't like it, they should do what they are supposed to do in the first place. i.e. hire singaporeans.

I agree that it make no sense; but Singapore wants to position itself as business friendly, hence the speedy processing. I was just saying that checks are currently being done but just not fast enough within the stipulated time frame.

Than we simply retaliate again. Kick out all the Indians on work permits, that would be a few hundred thousands. they can kick out all the sinkies working in india, that should be what? 500.
