ciggie brands of the past.

Night bazaar and ciggies. As a kid, I used to hang around with my more senior neighbour kids. we always go to night bazaar (tiam lam huay ). Usually sure have concert and game stalls. Game stalls is usually throw 12 number darts or 6 colors ping pong. if win, can change for ciggies or beer. And then go listen ko tai.

some of these brands also came in round tins that were served at tables during wedding dinners of yesteryear.

This one still on sale today?

My all time favourite was Lucky strike...

555 is popular among the oldies and I recall being advised to bring a tin of 555 to China on my first trip there.

Hehehe. Some old time slangs regarding ciggie.
Lone dragon or tok leng, means last cigarette in the packet. Reserved for owner. it's no good to take some one 's lone dragon.

Got dragon no pearl means got cigarette but no light. Used to deacribe the frustrated feeling of looking for lighter.

I remember Rothmans tasting abit like Dunhill Red.. I managed to smoke this brand just for a short while in the late 90s.. Then they stopped selling it in S'pore..

But from my working base here in Matland, they still selling Rothmans.. Ciggies galore for me.. One day smoke Dunhill, the next day smoke Rothmans, then another day smoke Pall Mall..

This country is really ciggie Heaven for hardcore smoker like me..

Interesting list of ciggie brands.. Didn't know Viceroy and L&M were old brands.. Now many people especially the young smokers buying Viceroy and L&M due to the cheaper price..
