I am much much more concern about maternity leaves for FTs..nabei cb the Fts in my co. came here to abuse MC, Child care leave, maternity leaves..pua chee bye PAP allow this to happen.
We're not there so why cast the boss as a villain. He is asking for one day a week so she can be apprised of what's happening. FYI she can be away as long as 4 months. In a small company everybody counts. Frankly if they can do without anyone for 2 months let alone 4 why do they need anyone at all. We still feel everything is a right forgetting how other people have to support us when we are away. When she comes back she has a perfect right to tell the boss " I want to quit". Nothing you can do. If an organization is good to you show it some consideration. If it is not good to you, work elsewhere.

It comes down to whether one is viewed as an economic unit or a human being. In Canada, maternity leave lasts for a whole year. Fully paid.

I find the prayer break no worse than smokers nipping out every hour to puff. At least the worshippers don't come back smelling.
Not as bad as those who have to jerk off 5 times a day.
most smoke after that so hell is confirmed. drinking is also out too. do they obey? and yet they still pretend. they are becoming a religion of convenience like christianitySerious career women may have one or two kids but they make arrangements for kids to be cared for and they don't go away for 4 months. Many come back as soon as possible. The company is right to think that if you go away for that long, career is not your priority. There is also the question of your intrinsic value. If you are really good companies will bend backwards to do things for you to keep you happy.
Women do have to choose. There is no shame in choosing family and allowing career to take a second priority. Guys usually have no choice.
As for Muslims praying 5 times, it is the same principle. Some nip away for 5 mins and come back. It is no more than a pee break. For some God seems to detain them for a half hour. They must be very saintly indeed. Go figure.
