France plans savage 75% tax rate for top earners as the rich vow to desert country if it goes ahead

France's highest earners are preparing to leave the country if Francois Hollande hikes up the top rate of tax.

One Paris law firm says it has been inundated with calls from wealthy businessmen asking if they should leave France if the socilaist President Francois goes ahead with his promise to introduce a 75 per cent tax rate on income above one million euros.

Vincent Grandil, partner of Altexis, which specialises in tax law, admitted his company has been receiving concerned calls from high earners since the French President's tax announcement.

He told the New York Times: 'We're getting a lot of calls from high earners who are asking whether they should get out of France.

'Even young, dynamic people pulling in 200,000 euros are wondering whether to remain in a country where making money is not considered a good thing.'

The FRENCH came come to SINgapore & say " Oui, merci!"...:D

It all depends on how many French make more than $1 million annually. If it is 1 percent, why bother? These 1 percent are just a nuisance to have around.
France could follow the US by imposing tax on all citizens, even those that are non-resident. How many of them would want to give up their citizenship?

Tax should not exceed 30% .More than 30% many will already start thinking leaving. Many will just leave if hit 50%.

THe rich French can move to sinkieland as sinkieland reward the rich and punish the poor.

The poor are not punished in Singapore. It's just that they aren't rewarded for their laziness and stupidity as they are in places like NZ, OZ the UK etc.

Countries like France punish success and reward sloth. It's a crazy system. It would be like awarding the FA cup to the team that lost and fining the team that won.

agreed alot of the poor in singapoire are lazy, stupid , greed and cow beh cow bu type. deserved to be screwed

How come u use the FA Cup as an analogy but not the BPL, UCL or even the World Cup?

Have to admit, high taxes is not the answer to the Frogs problems. They need to spend on infrastructure, get rid of the refugees who are costing them a bomb in welfare etc. I wonder if the refugees and illegals are gotten rid of + of course clamp on welfare cheats. I wonder if the deficit will be eliminated??

This is a great opportunity for french speaking countries and ex-french colonies. Believe me here in Cambodia one do see lots of money from France coming in here to build resorts and other "businesses" aka Phuket style.
