Pierre Png celebrates 40th bday. Still handsome.

“I couldn’t be at a better place than I am right now,” said Pierre Png.

The MediaCorp actor, who turned 40 yesterday (Oct 29), shared his thoughts on hitting a new milestone in life over a phone interview with xinmsn.

As a fan club tradition, PIERREnergy threw a birthday party for Pierre Png last Sunday, where the actor enjoyed some bonding time with his fans.

Yesterday, Pierre took a day off his busy filming schedule of Ch 5’s new drama Zero Calling to spend time with his loved ones. Starting the day with a bowl of “birthday noodles” prepared by his wife Andrea De Cruz, the actor then had lunch with a good friend before heading for a pampering massage session.

So, how does it feel to turn 40?

“Someone told me I’m officially an uncle ( laughs ). I get tired more easily, I’ve learned how to say ‘no’ [because I take a longer time to recover from a hangover], and I need more massages,” he quipped.

“I am very happy right now, even more so than when I was in my 20s and 30s. Back then I was unsure of myself, but now I’m in a ‘zen’ mode. It feels great actually.”

Well, we have to say Pierre looks really well-maintained for an “uncle”. What’s his secret?

“Eat healthy, exercise, drink in moderation. And I pray quite a bit.”

Instead of saying a birthday wish for himself, the big-hearted man would rather share his happiness and the love that he receives from everyone, with his family, friends and fans.

While speaking over the phone, Pierre also let on that the couple initially planned to go on a holiday for his birthday. However, they decided to scale down on the celebration after spending almost $5k on their 10th wedding anniversary recently.

Calling it the “biggest event he has ever organised” (besides his wedding), Pierre secretly started his planning a year ago. Through Facebook, he got in touch with some of Andrea’s friends from overseas and flew them to Singapore for the special day.

Not only did he also invite the three priests, who presided over their wedding ceremony 10 years ago, the hopeless romantic also prepared a surprise for his wife – performing Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up”.

“I tried to play the guitar but it was too difficult,” he laughed. “Just seeing her tears of joy is a gift to me.”
