A 28 year-old man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a case of outrage of modesty on board a train travelling along the North East Line.
In a statement on Friday, the police said that a 23 year-old woman was on board the train at about 6pm when she felt the suspect touching her chest. Both the woman and the suspect alighted at the next station.
The woman then reported the incident to SBS Transit staff, who detained the suspect before the arrival of police officers.
In its statement, the authorities advised the public to keep alert and attentive to their surroundings. Where possible, members of the public who take public transport should also move away if someone stands or sits exceptionally close to them.
