Japan will stand up to China, says PM Shinzo Abe

Some blamed Chiang and the KMT for not doing enough to fight the invading Japanese forces during WW2 and as a result Japan was able to occupy huge territories in China causing misery to millions of Chinese people. At that time Chiang chose instead to preserve his armies for the fight against the Communist Red Army. He saw the CCP as a greater long term threat to his rule over China. Chiang even moved the capital to Chungking so as to escape bombing by Japanese air planes. Had Chiang enaged the Japanese directly with the help from the Americans history may not be the same ....

there was no way that China could outright defeat the Japanese forces which had vastly superior military equipments. Chiang's strategy of "trading space for time" and bogging the Japanese down in the vast terrains of China was the only realistic choice of fighting the war. the strategy was right, executed to near perfection and resulted in the eventual bitter victory. it was regrettable that large territories were conceded to the Japanese as a result of that and the people suffered badly.

Chiang did not really preserve his armies against the Chinese Communists then. for instance. the central government units of the 74th corps and Tan Enbo's troops fought across North to South to West of China during the 8 years. the CCP fabricated this wartime lie to slander the KMT then.

the US didn't help China much. the US gave little aid and assistance to China before or after Pearl Harbor. the Americans' policy was "Europe first. Asia later." the 50 billions lend-lease program to the allied nations from 1941-1945. Britain had 60%. Soviet Union had 20%. China had just 2% and 0.3% and 1% in 1943 and end of 1944 respectively. the US did not arm any Chinese troops in China till late 1944. China survived the 8 years long bitter war largely on her own with little insufficient aid from US and rest of allied nations.

Samsung is a good choice for quality, they have caught up really quick and are now competing with the best Jap brands.

Coming back to the thread - Japan and China will not go to war with each other, they both will have too much to lose. All these "show of force" is only to bolster the politicians' popularity back home. China is on a forward path now and doesn't want to retro back into her dark days, Japan is gaining ground into China's market (eg. Honda was the first foreign company to operate with 51% ownership in PRC) and don't wish to lose ground that they have gained. It is my hope that all countries will work on their own domestic problems than wage war with each other.

Cheers!

The next IT show I m buying my 6 Samsung cameras mostly for Company usage but I must admit the quality is good enough for working purpose!

New to me. Where did you get this?

can google or baidu the Pan Hannian story. very interesting. the CCP choose to reveal the story themselves. one of Pan Hannian's greatest contributions to the CCP during the war then was to successfully negotiate a secret ceasefire between the Japanese and Chinese Communists after 1941, presumably after the hundred regiments offensive.

Japan alone won't dare to engage in a military confrontation with China unless they have the military backing of US through mutual defense treaty which is defensive in nature. China won't be the one to fire the first shot as to force US to intervene. Japan won't be stupid to fire the first round as they will be seen as the aggressor which doesn't fall under the scope of mutual defence treaty. US won't be so stupid as to encourage Japan to fire the shot as it not in their national interests to confront China.

As long as the situation remain this way, chances of a military confrontation is slim

I say let the US drop nuclear bombs into China and Japan. Drop some into India and Malaysia and Indonesia as well. Wipe out the shit skins and m&ds.

I tell you why,the Chinese everywhere are always lamenting that the Chinese race is not a united front and that is why the Japanese are still looking down on the Chinese/Asian today. You can see some of Chinese here are already cursing their own Chinese race!!It is so sad!It is like those traitors characters in Chinese soap opera!

That's why I will never make the japs rich (I ban their goods since day one) to look down on the rest of Asian.

The Japs look down on the Chinese for the same reason that everyone else does... because the Chinese are an inferior race.

If the Chinese are not careful, the Japs will kick their ass and rape their women all over again... this time without paying.

A hotel orgy involving nearly 400 Japanese male tourists and 500 Chinese prostitutes has sparked outrage on the mainland.

People were angry both because of the scale of the incident and the sensitive timing - two days before the 72nd anniversary of the start of the Japanese army's occupation of Northeast China in 1931.

"The Japanese are animals. They deliberately selected the date to humiliate the Chinese people," one netizen wrote, citing the fact that the Japanese had attempted to raise their national flag at the hotel but to no avail.

The tourists collectively patronized the prostitutes in a five-star hotel in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province.

Reports of the incident ignited flames of fury across China's major news portals, with many netizens describing the incident as "the shame of the nation".

[h=1]China’s 1st nuclear submarines revealed for first time in 42 years[/h]
By CCTV reporter Zhang Yilei
With a glimpse of the country’s fleet of nuclear submarine for the first time, these submarines have participated in multiple training and drills, simulating actual combat. Using domestically designed techniques, the fleet has also sets numerous Chinese records.
For the first time in 42 years, China’s nuclear submarine fleet has been revealed. The submarines are now taking part in a military drill in China. Equipped with the latest domestic designed navigation system, the submarines have achieved a major breakthrough in terms of the distance and depth travelled.

"This drill is different to previous ones, because there are more warships participating..including destroyers, frigates, supply ships and nuclear submarine. Also, we don’t know the whole plan of the drill, so we need to respond quickly and promptly." said Liu Yunhai, Captain, China Nuclear Submarine.
Working on the submarine is challenging both physically and psychologically. And for these submariners, they work under water for months, without a glimpse of sunshine.

"We can not distinguish day or night under water. After days of consecutive work, dizziness, insomnia, no appetite, it hits us, and it is just beyond us." said Hu Junhua, Submariner.
It’s the passion and responsibility of protecting their motherland that keeps them working.
"We believe that every sail and every dive we have made is a journey to better protect the country." said Gao Feng, Submarine Base Commander.
And, the fleet has made many Chinese records. It fired China’s first rocket underwater. It also set a record for the deepest dive. Over the past 42 years, this team of submariners has sailed over millions of nautical miles, without any accidents.
