Benchmarkes like features, customization, pretty interface.... is subjective. It's like saying that Win 7 interface is better than Mac OS interface
Who really believes that the Google store is ahead of the Apple app storeIf you look at the number of available appls, you will find more apps available for the iPad.
The Nexus 7 is the newer machine introduced a few months ago. Apple's new iPad will be available in Nov & it will be interesting to see what CNET has to say about it
Don't forget that Apple is throwing in FREE software i.e. iWorks & iLife.
you got check out google play or not...dun comment too fast. go and google the number of apps between the 2 then comment.
Personally I use many SW products that are free on my Mac & PC e.g Open office, firefox, CCleaner, ... Even my anti-vrus SW is free.
The music I listen to are all ripped from my own CD collection. If I want to add a song I don't already own I would just buy the CD & then rip it.
When I get my iPad I will get handful of games. Iworks should be enough for my needs. Maybe I'll consider getting a spreadsheet program like numbers?
From what I've read it makes good business sense for developers to give priority to the Apple platform because Apple customers spend more then their android counterparts. If an android only app becomes popular I expect the developer to port it to the IOS platform because of the $ in the IOS world.
All the software that you mentioned are available in Google play Android. Just as expected, you dare not commenton the number of apps between the 2. And go on rambling about users spend more on ios. Wahaha. The number of download from Google play already execeed apple.
In times to come, apps in all areas of Android will surpassed apple.
Are there a million Google apps
Like I said I don't expect to get more than a few apps.

Apple's App Store hits 1M options, iTunes Radio users play 1B songs
By AppleInsider Staff
The iOS App Store now has more than a million applications available, Apple announced on Tuesday. And the recently launched iTunes Radio has already hit more than 20 million users.
Those 20 million iTunes Radio listeners have streamed over a billion songs to date, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook revealed. iTunes Radio launched in late September as part of iOS 7, and is also available through iTunes.
And with over a million options on the iOS App Store, users have now downloaded more than 60 billion applications to date, Cook said.
Those downloads have now paid out over $13 billion to iOS developers, the CEO revealed.
The iOS App Store now has over one million apps available, and Cook said users have logged over 60 billion downloads. That's up from 900,000 and 50 billion downloads announced during WWDC earlier this year.
so pls.. dun be blind by apple, they are the first to start the whole touch phone and apps thing but that does not mean they will emerge as the final winner.
As an end user I only need a few apps. That's why I'm not impressed by the numbers game & that's why I initially didn't bring it up. Quality of user experience is my priority. Have been waiting on the sidelines until now.
For those who are considering an android tablet they should read up about "fragmentation" & if how they might l be affected by it. If they intend to keep the device for a few years.

The main problem with android is that you have an OS made by one company & the hardware by other companies like Asus & Samsung. We have already seen this kind of model in the PC world i.e. Microsoft. The problem with this kind of model is when you have a "problem" who do you approach MS or the hardware companyIt's very common for each of the parties to blame the problem on each other.
Same question for android customers. Google is giving away the OS away to hardware companies e.g. Asus, Samsung. So who takes ownership when customer have "problems"If you are IT savy you can hunt for a solution & maybe you will find a solution .
If have a problem with an Apple product you only have to contact Apple. If you need any SW updates, apps,..go to Apple.
This is the Apple ecosystem.
It's really up to people to decide if the Apple ecosystem is an advantage or evil.
This is actually not much of a problem. Only Apple users are blinded by this sort of thing. How many problems are there at all? Most current generation of users, which are the IT and internet savvy ones are able to handle little software problems , unlike the rocking chair old age generations.
Google are made for the new generations but it is so good that some older folks are learning to use it too. Unable to change will cause the downfall of all things. just like old farts. It is the hard truth. Software update of the android is a breeze.. just a notification on your device and a touch by your finger ( with connections available), you are good to go in a matter of minutes. It is an option to choose if you want to update or not.
Apple users usually think that the device they are using is the first of the kind and others are just of lower made quality and service.. hey, that is google. You open up your webpage and the first thing you see is google.
