I just saw in TV reporting China send RMB 50 billion to Singapore for sinkies to buy shares? Knn is this true. Saw a junior minister in Singapore meeting our officials but don't know why our president must come out to greet this simple official he not even prime minister. Also saw all the big guns from our cabinet meeting them. Waaaaa we really give them face man. Is it because its RMB 50 billion?

SINGAPORE - China's Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli is currently in Singapore for a three-day visit from Oct 21-23.*

Mr Zhang is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China.*

He was hosted to a dinner by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean on Monday, where both sides commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Singapore-China Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC).

Vice Premier Zhang also called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and was hosted to lunch by DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam and dinner by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

During the meetings, the Singapore leaders and Vice Premier Zhang affirmed ties between Singapore and China.*They endorsed the important role that the Singapore-China Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), including the Suzhou Industrial Park and Tianjin Eco-City, play in deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation.

The leaders also exchanged views on how Singapore can participate in China's regional development strategies, and how both sides can share experiences on economic transformation and expand cooperation in existing and new areas such as modern services, financial services, human resource development, inclusive growth and sustainable development.
