we don't need a 200,000 armed force. we need a strong deterrent force. After what the pap has done to SG and giving preferential treatment to 3rd world foreign trash, do you really believe our present SAF NSF and NSmen are motivated enough to defend Singapore.

Dont see why it cant be cheaper, however alot of Mindef Scholars, Generals and other institutions like Singapore Technologies will shrink drastically reducing in heaps of savings but these leeches will be out of work,,,PAP wont allow that.

I said it before, in spore our hardware is 15 years ahead of our neighbours,,but our software is 10 years behind,,there will be mass defections when war comes,,,no conscript will fight for the pap. I know I wont.

Agree...run the armed force as a professional organisation. cut out the wastages and we may be able to get a better force at a cheaper price

I advocate that SG law can compel Singaporeans to do NS. But they shd be paid market rate for what they do.

its not the quantity of the boots on the ground that is the issue, its the quality...the army is quite well equipped but the conscripts dont believe in serving...no way it can survive when war comes. Why would the conscripts risk their lives for a country that treats them like dogs and give foreign scums better benefits?

I am glad that you can see what I was trying to point out. An injustice done to SG guys and the pap plans to inflict the same to our daughters.

Well most of the Navy and Air Force r regulars alr. We can increase the army regulars by making the pay better.... That is if we want to eliminate NS. Maybe that way better, then nobody can say it's forced upon them!!

I think the way military technology is moving, u prob need a full time combat specialist to keep up with it. The soldier of the future will be a 100x more lethal and effective than a normal rifleman of today!!
