Backup plans are meant to backup but actually backup plans do not work most of the times and this happened in SINGTEL and DBS.

This is normal. Most backup systems on 24X7 mission critical systems do not work because nobody have the balls to schedule test scenarios to test them out.

The back up manual is still version 0.2.1.2.5.2.9 beta...the current one is Ver 8..1.2.3. ha ha ha ha

Because the top management refuse to invest in redundancy and systems. The quarterly DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan) is just a wayang to report to MAS for show. Only very minor and not critical applications are approved for the DRP. All the $ goes to their own pocket. They rather think of backup plan for themselves when they are being fired or retrenched. This is not a joke but the truth.

dont say invest in redundancy system, in the first place why got fire in network building that caused so wide spread damage? no proper maintenance ? network maintenance all outsourced to don't know who and this is the result..

I was writing a long story on the DSP report to MAS...then I wonder...long story, old story..nothing have changed..sigh!. Have spent 3 to 4 days sleeping on the premises restoring a major shutdown due to over heating....while, the customers are oblivious to it....the ATM's were still running...

Look like the back ups need backup, needs backup....ha ha ha
