Soldiers shouldn't be in Government... how about ex-military men? look at how many ex-military men we have in positions of power, be it in the Government, Research Institutes, Educational Institutes, GLCs, etc...

One reason why the PAP govt keeps churning out these SAF scholars is to maintain the status quo by selecting some of them to join its ranks. Those not so zhaiones get parachuted to GLCs and stat boards.
Another reason is to keep them well-fed and constantly rotate them out of Mindef's top brass, so any chance of a military coup is eliminated.
