[h=1]Jogger to run 100km for friend murdered in Cambodia[/h][h=2][/h]A FRIEND of the Singaporean church worker who was murdered in Cambodia plans to run 100km in her memory.

Manager Eddy Lee, 49, is braving the gruelling Sundown Ultra Marathon to celebrate the life of Mrs Wendy Ng, who died on a mission trip four months ago.

"I wanted to make the run more meaningful... it is a way for me to remember her," he said.

The 55-year-old relief principal was found dead in her living quarters at Hope International School in Kampong Speu province, west of Phnom Penh

Ms Goh J-ing (above) will take part in the Sundown Ultra Marathon to raise awareness of cancer.

borrow thread : im my case, according to family and screw bollah, its to show off...

Earlier in the year there was also a group of biker who did a group ride in memory of a biker friend who was killed in a road accident.

What is the point of doing such things (running, biking etc) for the memory of a person or for a cause e.g. raising awareness? And how effective can it be?

After this is done, the act is gone forever. Forgotten over time by those who did the run/ride, and certainly by the public.

What are these people's real motivation for doing such things? Seek attention? Or they can't handle the grief themselves and have to make a public display of it?

I have been running for the PAP for so many decades , no body gave me recognition?? I even donated daily to a charitable caused name CPF & SAM here is a staunch supporter & runner too...

I bet when he goes riding on his bike..he has the logo stitched on every thing he wears including the undies...yet, no one is aware & he is running for a cause??

The point is the person who are with them are dear to them, which you do not understand.

when someone or something is dear to you, you pay them respect in certain ways.

just like sinkies who show their cowardice by bending down and let the PAP govt to screw them daily..but for this, i really really do not understand how a human being can do that.
