A father of a 5 yr old child suffering from cancer invited a pastor to the church to
pray for the child. After visiting he spoke to the father. The father was thinking of using his life savings to send the child to US for treatment. The pastor convinced the father to donate this money to the church so
that. the family willl be blessed and the child will be cured "by the grace of God".
After donating the money to the church, the child's condition worsen. The pastor said not to worry the child will get better..a few week later the father could not find the pastor who went to Las Vegas for.holiday. The y;oung child fell into; coma and died.
one week before her 6th birthday.

When the pastor came back. the father confronted him to ask why did God allow his young child to die...and why the pastor' promise of blessing for his family. The pastor told the father this...God did not bless his family and took his child away
because because his faith in God was not strong enough, it was the father's fault the
child died.....the father's heart sank and he became depressed.

On the birthday of his child. the father pour kerosene all.over his body, lit a match
and burned himself to death.

This story was told to me by a disillusion christian who left one of these prosperity mega churches to join a small church where he found truly sincere people devoted to the religion.

We sometimes call propsperity preachers like Kong Hee con men, but some of them are far worse hypocrites tha. what you can imagine driven by greed

Those who pray to god or attached themselves to religion for personal benefit will suffer such consequences. religion is an education that enhance people to be selfless with wisdom, stay in this domain and you will not go wrong.

This Con Hee is really a "genius" lah. He talks as if only money is of utmost importance to God. He seems to know God inside-out. He can really act. It'll be a pity if MediaCorp does not give him and his wife a job after their sentences are done in Changi.

The story u said is quite often true in the sense that these preachers always say, bad things happen to you because your faith is not strong etc etc. I have heard it all and seen it all before. However I feel as a human one has to be practical about such things,,,and not cling to much to life. If I have cancer, I will not go for cure etc cos it does not work as there is no cure, its painful and it cost. the only beneficiaries are the doctors and drug companies. If i have children and they got cancer or whatever, I will let them go,,,death is part of life, deal with it.

But in Christianity alot of misinterpretation of the bible is going on. and the 'balance' is not there. The likes of Con Hee will say donate to the church and blessings will come down from heaven etc,,,but is that a practical approach? I do believe in God from the Christian point of view, but I have to practical about life. So that father by giving to the church, is that practical? and the worse of all, this preacher putting such BS around deserve to be shot. As he is using the name of God in vain.

Faith is good and subjective, but one thing about faith is also to let go. Death is part of life, deal with it,

Like I said I heard this story from a Christian so I shared it just as he shared it with me. I know the Church but my friend did not tell me the pastor. Note that this is not a first hand story from me but told to me by a friend. It is not important to dig every detail about it, but the general message to be wary of some crooks who hide behind religion....it has happened again and again. Unfortunately, genuine Christians are too nice sometimes to speak up against another group that is misled.....but this "close one eye" sometimes end up hurting their own religion. ...just like Kong Hee, he has done irreparable damage to Christianity through many distortions.

1 thing I had always come across with many Christians is when a patient is cured, they'll say: "God is benevolent and has answered to our prayers".
