The new Chairman of Temasek Lim Boon Heng was quoted as follows in the Sunday Times.

"I don't think I'm totally new to this because at NTUC, we have co-operatives...I think the principles are essentially the same. Of course, there are lots of different ways of investing - private equity, cash funds, credit and so on...those are the areas that are newer to me so I now get to learn to understand those principles and how you should consider investing in those areas."

Question: Would any local or foreign bank have hired him for a mid-level position, eg as a Relationship Manager of the UOB Branch in Toa Payoh?

What do you think?

Whenever someone speaks using "and so on..." implies his extremely lack of knowledge and expects the audience to fill in the blanks for him.

Well, he's got a few years to learn, before he's nominated to become the next resident of the Istana. What a lucky sperm.

If whore jinx as a electrical engineer can gamble with billions....this naval architect is well suited for this job.

My god.

This is absolutely shocking. This bloke talks as if he is some retired bloke off the street who is having his first foray into investment.

Chilling indeed.

You don't really need a lot of talent for the job. Just nod in approval whenever Ho Ching makes a move.

It's a shame Singapore has degenerated into this sorry state.

Mediocrity is the hallmark of a PAPpy. This is the elitism that Wooden Goh mentioned but of course, as a PAPpy, he has to exclude his own kind.

We can look forward to more billions going down the drain. Ho Jinx and Ah Heng together will be able to wipe out at least 50 percent of Temasek!

no diff lah...........Lim Boon Heng is just a puppet...........he probably needs Ho Ching's permission to go to the loo..........

The above is like saying "there are lots of different ways of eating - using chopsticks, at a restaurant, sitting at a table and so on......."

The "ways of investing" he cited are not even comparable with each other, they are entirely different subject matters.

Anytime, Tan Kin Lian will be a better choice than Uncle Lim, if NTUC is the yardstick.

Exactly. Managing a co-operative is one end of the spectrum while managing a sovereign wealth fund is the other end. It's like a former chwee kway seller at a hawker center saying that he can make superb shark fins in a fine dining chinese restaurant as the principles are the same. The PAP is really insulting our intelligence.
