We diverted an Eastbound train at Raffles Place MRT Station at 7.24am this morning, in order to ease the congestion on the North-South line towards Jurong East MRT Station. In-train announcements were made to notify passengers of the planned diversion.

Passengers who had originally planned to alight at the interchanges to switch to a North-South Line train toward Ang Mo Kio and Jurong East MRT Stations were advised to stay in the train whereas those headed toward Pasir Ris Station were asked to alight at Raffles Place MRT station and to continue their journey on the next train. In addition, SMRT staff were deployed at Raffles Place MRT station to inform and assist passengers of the planned diversion.

Subsequently, the next train was back on track.

Next time got new excuses to blame tardiness....trains delay or breakdowns so passé. Now is trains diverted!
