My neighbor's fridge is taken out and dumped and I want to take it to repair. I've a back-yard to keep it so it's not a problem.

Any recommendation of a reliable fridge repair service in Singapore.

Why bother to repair old electronics? A brand new medium size fridge like LG costs about $600, large size 2 door about $1200, mini bar size costs about $200.

Assuming your neighbour fridge is medium size, if it takes a few hundred dollars to repair, you might as well top up to $600 for a brand new fridge. Fridge itself has a certain life, once past, it is a complete write off. Other electronics like radio, you can repair and listen for life but not a fridge.

How do you know it cost a few hundred dollars if you don't know what's wrong with it?

If his neighbour thinks the fridge is not worth repairing and time to throw out, then the magnitude of the problem is serious enough to cost a few hundred dollars.

All hail Sinkie's neighbour the God of Fridges! ;)

My neighbor is rich lah....every now and then, throw good things out, because already paying refuse charges monthly, might as well use it to the fullest. That's what I think.

I also think no one will repair the fridge for $80.

I checked, the transport charge is oredy $20 to $25.

If it's not compressor spoil, then the fridge got repair hope.

Never waste a good thing. Or bad karma.

Dont waste time to repair the fridge , it will give trouble again very fast. Better wait for sale and buy a new one.

If your fridge is old then no point, more problem may arise so better to get a new one.

Do not know about fridge these days, is it worth repairing?? in the past, you change the compressor, can buy similar Recondition one that is cheaper ( done it ages ago by a company in Yishun), check & refill the coolagant ( correct spell?), change the gasket for the door, change the light bulb inside...re spray the fridge..you get a recond one that last another 10 years or more...after which...it goes for recycling.

Same goes for the standing fan...you can change the motor for a small fee, buy new blades, get it re spray..you get a "new" standing fan...

Do not think, consumer electronic products are worth repairing...their life span is up to warranty, if you lucky another 3 years...either it starts to give problems..or it is obsolete..

are u planning to repair and use the fridge or repair and give away to someone more needy?

Repair then sell as good in HWZ.

If you can afford a new one why make do with 2nd hand?
Dun be a cheapskate....make money is for spending....dun scrimp on own self and family.
