New Us Ambassador to Singapore: Strong proponent of American values

Most nominations (including ambassador to sinkieland) are given to party campaign helpers as form of gratuity for their help during presidential campaign. For countries with very important ties with US like ambassador to Russia, China etc, they tend to be more stringent with their nominees. Usually require the candidates to possess in-depth knowledge and extensive contacts with their host countries.

Here's some American values:

- right to carry arms. Can easily buy guns and go shoot out at schools
- have big meal portions to stay fat
- don't own passport cos everything is in U.S
- want the freedom to vote for a redneck Texan president for two straight terms

actually not so for George Bush time. His Ambassadors were proper diplomats.

It would not surprise me at all if the 2 countries are already sharing intelligence gathered by PRISM, XKeyScore and such. One thing for sure, whatever you say on the net or over the phone is being stored for potential later use somewhere. From my knowledge, no intel agency shares eveything they have. Similarly, no intel outfit will allow another to join them in their operations. They do not want the other to know their 'capabilites.' And when it comes to purchase of equipments, no one sells you their latest.

I believe the Americans yes. SID can be stingy

Sinkapore has a reputation of being stingy ...that's why our relations with ASEAN neighbours is at best cordial, never close. They know that sinkapore is super calculative and will never engage in anything without substantial gain.
