SERIOUS OFFENCE IN THE PENAL CODE - Fabricating false evidence

Sec 192. Whoever causes any circumstance to exist, or makes any false entry in any book or record or electronic record, or makes any document or electronic record containing a false statement, intending that such circumstance, false entry, or false statement may appear in evidence in a judicial proceeding, or in a proceeding taken by law before a public servant as such, or before an arbitrator, and that such circumstance, false entry, or false statement, so appearing in evidence, may cause any person, who in such proceeding is to form an opinion upon the evidence, to entertain an erroneous opinion touching any point material to the result of such proceeding, is said “to fabricate false evidence”.

If someone in Parliament submits a dossier with inaccurate/( or mischevious?) facts, would he be said to have fabricated evidence, notwithstanding Paliamentary Privilage?

Very sure, it is a serious offence, provided someone makes a police report.

Did the PAP "mis-speak"?

or outright lies they told in Parliament?

Could the civic-minded Mr. Oh make a police report on this matter? It concerns the hawkers that he cares deeply for.

The March 2013 spring cleaning is an annual event, nothing false there.

Are you trying to act stupid or are you plain stupid? If you can't follow the debate in parliament, please tell us where you are confused and we kind souls will try to help.

I don't think this so called inaccuracy was brought up in parliament and for the sake of the opposition i hope it never will.

It has yet to be brought up but it should be raised. Let Hansard show that Vivian misled Parliament.

Yeah, it will be voted down but the record will show. And when WP forms government, this issue will be revisited. 100 strokes of the rotan for Vivian will be the mitigated sentence.

Refer to the other thread, tired of repeating myself...

eh up points for you

The insertion of "annual" is not a trivial matter since it was well known that this was a key to understanding everyone's approach to issue. Furthermore VB produced a "dossier". A "dossier" is more than just a file. It is a compilation of documents for a certain end. In this case to implicate the WP MPs. By the way, this dossier was very likely produced with taxpayers money. Given the spotlight on " integrity" I feel it is incumbent on the PM to find out what happened. It is better he investigates and makes a statement on the whole matter. A wise man will walk away from an unnecessary fight given the chance. The hawker centre's high areas may be clean now but I think it is the nation's high areas we need to be concernd about. The PAP is deluding itself if it thinks the the MSM has any influence on public opinion other than letting us know where the GSS bargains are to be had. Suspicions are growing that attempts were being made by functionaries to do a hatchet job.

My impression of the WP is that they do not wish to embarrass the government or to take cheap shots at them. However I do not think they are pushovers. The PM should not put the reputation of his entire cabinet on the line for a matter which can go many ways and no obvious conclusion. There is a tipping point at which Singaporeans will lose complete faith in them. We all know the feeling of waking one day and connecting all the dots and seeing that a trusted colleague, friend or worse still, family member wasn't all you thought they were. Singaporeans now are actively connecting dots. The PM should be careful of what pictures emerge.

Your annual remuneration is $20,000. See the importance of the word annual now. Without annual $20k is a lot.

Vivian is a 'snakey' character.

Who do they say...you see a snake...!??

the saying goes like this..........

wtf do you do when you see a snake and an indian la ...

That's my thought as well.

So much for the 154 shit painting the story of VB striking a body blow to WP with his dossier.

This will come back to bite him in the ass so bad come 2016.

Anyway, VB with his character assassination of VW in the last GE, his fucked up YOG, his mess of the dengue and haze problem. I don't suppose he'll be around much longer.
