Perhaps the politicians found something they can be proficient at doing - pointing fingers. Agree, its a waste of time and certainly turned attention away from issues they should work on.

That is one of the reasons why PAP is so full of hypocrites; pretending to be so caring and protective towards hawkers whereas every discerning Singaporean can see that they are really targetting WP and blowing up the whole issue into a national issue-that of an MP's integrity or lack of. For so many cycles already, the cleaning of hawker centres is a non issue but the moment they smell blood as in the present case, they went berserk and in the process put themselves up so very high on the moral horse. What a laugh! Other than YOG, perhaps they need even more embarassing reminders or have they forgotten about Palmergate and Aimgate. Heaven has got eyes!

This self-serving poking each other in lumparliament must stop. Tax-payers did not vote you cheebyes in to argue over hawker centre cleaning. In the first place, why is the Town Council responsible for cleaning the hawker centre? Why is not the HDB responsible, since these are commercial properties. Are residents subsidizing the conservancy and maintenance of the hawker centres?
Why? There are many national issues and as I've posted on Yahoo News, why is the minister wasting tax-payers money bickering over an issue which is already ridiculous that Town Council is responsible for cleaning the hawker centre, which is a commercial property and HDB is making tons of money leasing it out!!!!!
In the US, politicians can filibuster up to 24 hours non stop. But yes, on important issues not on hawker centres.
