It is happening globally, even in sinkapore. Sinkapore's is caused by government policy of letting in millions of foreigners.

Americans are the main culprit when they called for globalization in 1985 and is made worse by the influx of PRCs esp in the last 10 yrs due to very lax immigration control by greedy goverments without any protection for the locals.

Globalization will only be fair if every country in the world have the same living standard which will never be possible unless there's only one unbias goverment running the whole world equally.

Goverments should implement rules like foreigners buying overseas properties can only take max 20-25% loans (0% even better) if they are really serious about protecting the locals but our goverment only prefers to impose higher stamp duties and property gain tax as these will benefit them instead of the former which they can't make any money out from it.

Globalization is promoted by those who benefits from it - the rich. The middle and working class are just sheeps, they only read the headlines and then form their opinion. Many just go with the flow. Now, globalization is giving them a big slap. Yet, many have yet to wake up.
A return to managed trade is inevitable as nations start to focus on the well-being of their people.
