Lift molester arrested within 3 hours using Police cameras

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 19-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for a case of outrage of modesty in a lift.

On July 4 at about 11.30am, a 19-year-old woman reported to the Police that she was molested by a man while she was inside a lift at Telok Blangah Crescent.

Police officers managed to obtain images of the suspect from the cameras mounted at the HDB block. They then proceeded to comb the neighbourhood to search for the suspect.

In three hours, the suspect was found and arrested at his residence at Telok Blangah Crescent at about 2.30pm.

The clothes he had worn during the act of the crime were also seized.

If found guilty, he may be jailed for up to ten years and is liable to caning. Investigations against the suspect are ongoing.
