He was trumpeting independence only to gain support from the south. True, KMT was as corrupt as can be after almost 50 of dynastic rule.. but this ah bian became super corrupt within 8 short years...

a kaoshiong friend (from ex DPP supporter family) told me most voters had lost faith in their democratically elected president after his first term. Even that fat girl Sisy (chen wen qian??) and the chairman of evergreen withdrew their support and started opposing ah bian after seeing him become so corrupt in such a short time.

For those idiots who hail opposition as the "divine saviours of the nation", please learn this lesson from Taiwan. No human being is infallible. All politicians have to be whacked to show them the voters are their real boss.

Tat why institutions need to be strong. But u r right. Sometimes opposition not the answer. Look at Zimbabwe, the opposition has gone over to Mugabe. And both sides are pillaging the country..
