Is this real? Bat is soooo big. will it attack humans?

Does the bat eat only fruits and vegetables to grow that big?

I visit Sri Lanka's Colombo often, every evening around 5pm the bloody crows and pigeons will disappear and replaced by gigantic bats that Sri Lankans call flying dogs. I tell you they are 2-3 times bigger than the photos above.

This is a Bismarck Flying Fox. The largest Fruit Bat in the world, found in Papua New Guinea. I doubt if humans are targeted by these animals. Probably humans might eat the creature if they caught it.

Cheers!

The small bats we commonly see won't grow to this size. Flying foxes are a different species and can get quite big and, yes they only eat fruits.
I used to eat flying foxes, delicious.
