Result doesn't tally. According to kini, PKR has a net gain of 14 seats compare to last election. But result of 57- 35 seem quite far absurd.

PAP learn the chao Kwan from BN or BN learn from PAP?

12.14pm: Penang BN state chief Teng Chang Yeow said the poor performance in the general election was never expected and perhaps the people of Penang think DAP can better speak for them.

"Generally people in Penang had rejected BN," he admitted.

When asked if BN will still carry out projects promised by them, he reminded that free port status and the Padang Tembak flat renewal project would only materialise if BN captured Penang.
"Now the people should let the new government to offer their plans for them."

As for the other three housing projects (Air Putih, Air Itam and Paya Terubong) promised by the caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, he said he need to check with 1MDB on that.

Anyway, he agreed that Penang BN needs to do a lot of soul searching.

To add to his disappointment, BN/MCA candidate Loke Poh Chye had lost his deposit, which - a first for BN Penang.

PUTRAJAYA: Election observers from 4 ASEAN member nations have expressed their satisfaction with the overall election process that took place on polling day.
ASEAN Cross Sectorial Cooperation Director Larry Maramis said he was pleased with the Election Commission’s conduct over the election after visiting polling centres and stations in key locations.

He said he was also impressed with the EC’s ability to be flexible in making adjustments to suit the varied segments of society who were consulted throughout the nation’s political process.

“We have seen from this experience that the commission has truly carried out the election in a very transparent manner,” he told a press conference at the commission’s headquarters.

The commission’s vice-chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the delegation were shown around the many levels of the EC’s operations from the staffing involved right up to the information communication technology that was used to convey results swiftly.

The delegation, which came from Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Myanmar, had been in the country since Saturday.

Cambodian Election Commission vice-chairperson Dr. Sin Chum Bo said polling day ran smoothly based on her observations at various sites.

She added that the EC had covered all crucial aspects such as vote secrecy, allowance of party agents to observe, and visibility of vote counting, among others.
