Please recommend a mid-range smart phone

I am looking for a mid-range smart phone, budget less than $500, for a friend. Something similar to Note 2 but no need all those high-end stuff. She will be using it for messaging (WhatsApp, LINE, Camfrog, FaceBook etc) and net surfing most of the time.

Thank you Cestbon. There seem to have Galaxy Ace 2 and Ace Duo I wonder what the difference. Also now they launched a Galaxy Grand that looks like a bloody Note II but much cheaper.

Thank you Huawei, I'll go take a look at Huawei. I just googled and found that its a mega Chinese company that has business in more than 140 countries and serving 45 of 50 top telecom companies in the world. Impressive. Later I go shop to look.

Btw, won't a dual sim card be confusing? Raiders might kena salah wrong chiong contacts Have this old, beat up and el cheapo Motorola with dual sim card.

Microsoft & eatshitndie - S3, S4, iPhone all too high end actually I'm buying for my maid so cannot be so high end wait wife not happy also will be a waste because she won't need all those fanciful features.

Go Sim Lim and have a look at this. Price quoted was $350. Maybe can hagger down to $300 or less. Specs pretty good, dual-SIM and even comes with extra battery.
