Martin gore teamed up with Vince clarke for an electronica album last year. But I found it quite disappointing. Sounded like eurotechno :(

I liked the first few albums with Vince Clarke as well as Yazoo, and early Erasure. Somehow, Erasure got stale....and he couldn't do any better after that. I think Depeche Mode managed to move with the times and continued to produce decent sounds......I won't call it "great" anymore coz I got old too but decent is what I'll use.......

Sorry hor.... I usually listen to 60s hits... I avoid 80s and 90s like the plaque.. A little of the 70s is ok....

The above rendition of " A World without Love" is better than the original by "Peter and Gordon" .... don't you think?

Actually I didn't fancy VC's work at DM (except for I Just Can't Get Enough) and preferred his earlier work at Erasure (Wonderland, Circus, The Innocents, Cracker International). Didn't really listen to Yazoo except when it's on the radio.

I recall Erasure changed their sound in 91 and became too electronic -- something like Adamski. To me, that's the point when he went insanely overboard with the electronic sounds. Might have been good on the dancefloor but it was horrible for casual listening.

Good thing there were other electronica groups to listen to then - DM (101 was the soundtrack of my generation), The Beloved, Cause and Effect, Electronic (Bernard Summer and Johnny mar project), OMD, and of course the legendary New Order.

cannot stand Erasure.........what's the term to describe their music ?......................bubble gum pop.................

Their earlier stuff were more soulful - especially The Innocents. then with the album in 1991 their sound became very gay. Andy bell must have come out of the closet around then.

LOL yeah... even Leslie kwok and Neil tennant(??) from the Pet shop boys.

speaking of PSB, their 80s/early 90s stuff was much better than their later stuff. Once again, I think it's because that fella came out of the closet and became a flamer.

Where got fight?
