Malaysia top investor in AfricA

not surprised. my ex company backed sg companies to invest in africa oil & gas but in the end lose out to malaysians... especially petronas....

they are very formidable in the global market....
they even have their own university petronas which many say produces the country's top engineering grads.... we need to be sharper

What do you mean by 'we'? Those SAF clowns parachuted into GLCs? For example, Ng Yat Chung in NOL? Desmond Kuek in SMRT? Most of them are top engineering grads too. :rolleyes:

'we' means whoever flying the sg flag aboard.
have had meetings with petronas scholars before.... they seem very streetsmart.

Did you all know that South African governmental processes are copied from Malaysia? Even the car number plate system and fonts are the exact duplicate. I was surprised when I first stepped there. It is however a working system for the South African and I would suspect that the rest of Africa is following suit. Hence the trust with Malaysian investors.

BTW, Chinese are also investing heavily in Africa.

if u step in to major icb bank branches in africa, u'll be surprised to see they hang the potrait of a familiar face in there. he owns that bank and many others in africa. some say, he's really the one pulling the strings in air asia....

The differences between Boleh land and Sinkland is, they based their riches on knowledge of resources but Sinkland enriches themselves by 'robbing' the common folks!

How do you ever think Sinkland can be sharper?

When the views of progress is measured very differently?

That explains why former finance minisiter of malaysia, daim zainuddin has banks in africa which is listed on london's AIM.

The notion Daim Paduka Zainuddin is corrupt is not plausible.
Reason(s):

- at e age of 36 in 1970s, before he was invited to be a minister, way before he was invited into politics by Dr M, he is already e 1st and youngest billionaire in Sth East Asia with his own effort.

- when he was invited to head GLCs and later the cabinet, Daim already divested all his biz interest and went back to his beloved village in Merbok, Kedah.

- Daim never once campaign for votes in UMNO or in any GE. The man don't need to cos he is a legend even before he joined politics. This meant he dont even need to buy votes especially during UMNO elections.
