Heard from someone still working for MRT that after 15yrs and just after these Ah Tiong bus drivers problem a lot of the lower rank staff finally get a pay readjustment after they have been hanta kaki for years.

If employees don't stand up to employers, they get bullied, oppressed and exploited.

Any country, any nationality, any industry... it's the same.

Often the pro-business and pro-capitalist folks (read: PAP supporters) threaten that jobs may be shipped away if we 'lose our competitiveness' (read: get better wages, perks and welfare). They call themselves 'job creators'. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The truth is: businesses are scared of workers and they need workers. Don't let their empty threats hold you ransom. Too many employees keep quiet when things are not going well at the workplace, because they don't want to appear 'confrontational' and risk losing their job. As a result, the bullying, exploitation and unreasonable demands keep piling up.

Agree. FT help Sinkie for pay raise. Sinkie dare not walk out .After FT stop work gov scare if sinkie follow the same route.
