When the pap wanted to increase GST to 7%, it justified the need by saying that the increase is to help the poor. But:
1. When the aged poor needs help, the pap tells them that they must nnot have a crutch mentality and their children must help them.
2. When poor couples need help to care for their young children, the pap tells these couples that they shd not have a crutch mentality and their parents shd help them care for their children.
This is pap's warped circular reasoning. Must extended families of the poor and needy be financially bankrupted before the pap govt steps in to help them?
Often the poor and aged in SG have struggling and poor children. they cant help each other and need the govt to help them out of the poverty trap. That's what taxes and GSTs are for...
