We lucked into a chance to disassemble and shoot a pretty rare black rifle recently - an SAR-21 bullpup made by Singapore Technologies (and this is why we take a camera everywhere we go). Singapore is another one of those countries with an impressive arms industry that most folks don't know about, and the SAR-21 is a pretty impressive product.

Unlike so many new rifles out there, this is not just a remake or variation on the AR15 or AR18. The two-lug bolt and carrier remind us a bit of the FG-42, although the SAR-21 uses an AR-style cam pin instead of the FG-42's method of holding the firing pin on the oprod. There seems to have been a lot of practical thought put into the design, with a very controllable rate of fire, good all-purpose optic, built-in laser, easy disassembly and easy cleaning access.

That's a good review of my Country's SAR-21 Assault Rifle!
As a citizen soldier who had fired this weapon a lot of times, the recoil is lesser compared to the M-16 Assault Rifle.
Shooting accuracy is greatly improved while you're doing highly physical fire & movement towards the target.
The length is shorter for easy movement through dense vegetation & operational comfort.
You can fire this weapon even it's soaked in water with live rounds safely.
Impressive! :-)

This retard loves his NS and his SAR21.
What a pathetic life it must be to take pride in such things.

Look what arronlee33 has uploaded to his Youtube channel.

Good. We need people like him to lead the line in war. Give him a 3-rank promotion, im sure he'll volunteer to be suicide bomber.

The video is titled "Forgotten Weapons". Ouch! Did ST do such a bad job marketing it?

nah beh...if this water gun is so good, we will see armies all the world scampering for it....but no...its like a 40 yr old virgin, unwanted and undesired.

This is by no means scientific but over the years, I've spoken to people who have used both the M16 and the SAR21 and most (about 50%) prefer the SAR21. About 40% prefer the M16. 10% did not express preference for either.

I've also visited quite a few gun sites and nearly all review the SAR21 favourably except for one aspect. Many of these sites do compare the SAR21 with the M16 and its variants and some acknowledge the technical and design superiority of the SAR21, except for one aspect.

The one aspect? The spent cartridge can only be ejected from the right side, and left handed shooters have to squeeze the trigger with the right hand! These sites note that much older weapons like the FAMAS and the Steyr AUG allow shooters to switch the ejector direction easily.

Perhaps, >50% NS men prefer SAR21 because it is designed for Sinkies... weak, short, small.

Real soldiers prefer big rifles (as evidence in AK47).

Perhaps but the SAR21 is actually heavier than the M16. Part of the reason is the gas piston which transfers the force of the exiting round to re-cock the rifle. In the M16, the gas pushes the bolt back directly (which means that it tends to leave lots of carbon deposits where they can do the most damage.)

.

If a rifle that was developed 40 years after the M-16 can get this sort of statistic, then it an epic failure.

Give me a M4 anytime

4 kg is not much of a weight. Just need some training to get used to it.

See this vid. Ultimax from Singaland.
