[h=5]MND minister Khaw BW has declared that HDB has delinked the price of new HDB flats from the resale market... Although I am still skeptical about it but I welcome such move if it is indeed true. HDB has further revealed that new HDB prices should be only 4 times of the annual income of intended salary groupings. I also welcome such policy direction although this is far from what I have advocated, Cost-plus pricing mechanism, it is just a small step forward. It would mean that for a household income of $4K to own a 4 room flat, it should not cost more than $192K. This fall short of my estimation of $160K for a 4 room flat but still a vast improvement from the present pricing.
At the very least, I would say my battle on HDB housing pricing during GE2011 has gained a substantial victory.
